As a therapist, I get excited about the opportunity for change in a person's life.
About Me
I am a licensed therapist with a passion for helping clients navigate relationships, trauma, and personal growth. I’ve been married for over ten years and am a mom, which gives me personal insight into the joys and challenges of family life. Originally from Dallas, I studied at UT Dallas and Harding University. Outside the office, I love cross-training, baking, traveling, and hitting the slopes for snow skiing. My mission is to support clients with empathy, expertise, and a genuine commitment to their well-being.
My Approach to Therapy at KW Counseling
At KW Counseling, I bring a depth of training and expertise to support meaningful, holistic healing. I hold licenses as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor (LMFT-S) and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S), which enable me to work with clients on complex relational and mental health challenges. Additionally, my certification as an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist supports trauma recovery by targeting distressing memories for reprocessing. I’m also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), providing specialized care for substance use and addiction recovery.
My Qualifications
LMFT-S (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor): This certification allows me to provide therapy to couples and families, focusing on relational dynamics and fostering healing within interpersonal systems.
LPC-S (Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor): As a licensed counselor, I am trained to address a wide range of mental health issues, guiding clients through challenges like anxiety, depression, and life transitions.
EMDR Certification: EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy that helps clients process and integrate traumatic memories, reducing distress and promoting resilience.
LCDC (Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor): This license enables me to work with individuals struggling with addiction, incorporating strategies to build recovery skills and healthy coping mechanisms.
Holistic, Collaborative Healing
I see therapy as a collaborative journey, where we tailor each session to your goals and strengths. My approach is trauma-informed and relationship-focused, using evidence-based practices like Emotionally Focused Therapy, Family Systems Theory, and the Gottman Method to support meaningful change.
Trauma-Informed, Relationship-Focused
Understanding that trauma impacts each of us differently, I approach each session with empathy and care, aiming to help you process past experiences in a way that feels safe and empowering. My work in trauma therapy, including EMDR and Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy (DNMS), supports healing from life’s toughest challenges, helping you move toward a more grounded, resilient self.
Supporting Your Journey
Whether you’re working through a personal challenge, navigating relational complexities, or seeking personal growth, I am here to support you with empathy and guidance. Taking that first step toward therapy is significant, and I’m honored to join you on this journey.
